Laasya Art presents an art exhibition of iconic Indian artists Laxma Goud and Thota Vaikuntam, featuring a curated collection of original paintings, prints, and sculptures available for private acquisition. As part of this rare opportunity to view their artwork in California, the gallery has produced two original short films about each artist's unique voice and fascinating personal story.

The films (Zauq: The World of Laxma Goud, and Thota Vaikuntam: The Making of the Telangana Woman) will premiere on Friday, May 1st during the exhibition's opening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Additional screenings will be held on Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, during the exhibition's viewing hours of 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. The screenings and exhibition are free and open to the public.

One of India's most distinguished contemporary artists, LAXMA GOUD is celebrated for his masterful line work and evocative explorations of rural life and intimacy. He works with exceptional versatility across painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and textile, bringing a distinctive visual language to each medium. In 2016, Goud received the Padma Shri, a prestigious civilian award presented by the President of India, for his contributions to fine art. His work is held in notable museum collections, including the British Museum (UK), the Peabody Essex Museum (USA), and the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi (India).

THOTA VAIKUNTAM is one of India's most celebrated contemporary artists, renowned for his iconic depictions of the 'Telangana Woman.' Across paintings, sculptures, and prints, he renders rural Telangana life in bold colors and striking simplicity. Vaikuntam has received numerous awards, including the National Award for Painting from the Government of India in 1993. His work is held in notable museum collections, including the Peabody Essex Museum (USA) and the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi (India).
