Not only has Louie Vega, along with partner Kenny Dope as Masters at Work, been responsible for over 100 EP's and 1,000 remixes that have shaped house music as know it today, his solo career as DJ extraordinaire makes him as relevant today as he has been in the decades past. Perhaps this is due to over four decades of residencies that span mythical venues such as the Red Zone, Sound Factory, Cielo, and many others that currently include all night sets for Expansions tours and in Ibiza as The Ritual with multi-talented singer/songwriter/DJ wife Anané.
Throughout his career, Louie Vega has been nominated for seven Grammy nominations and one win for Best Remixed Recording for Superfly (Louie Vega EOL Mix). His 2022 release with The Martinez Brothers, Let It Go, has not strayed from the top of the charts.
The NY native is a mega force who has painted an award-winning career from a palette mixed with everything from house, salsa and afro-beat, to jazz, hip hop, gospel and soul. This marks Respekt Music's debut Public Works show as well as Louie's long-awaited return to the San Francisco Bay Area.
