Treasures of the Pharaohs

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco announce the US premiere of the international touring exhibition Treasures of the Pharaohs, exploring the lives and legacies of the pharaohs, also referred to as "gods on Earth" and celebrated throughout Ancient Egypt. Spanning 3,000 years of Egyptian history, the de Young museum presentation will bring 130 dazzling royal treasures and other rare antiquities to San Francisco, which will offer insights into their daily life, social structures, religious practices, and the society's lasting impact on the modern world.

Ancient Egypt produced some of the most astounding artifacts, architecture, and cultural achievements in human history. The pharaohs ruled this society, influencing the lives of the people who served them and upholding the religious beliefs that shaped their understanding of the world and the afterlife.
