Yerba Buena Gardens Festival Presents Poetry Workshop with Nia Pearl

at Yerba Buena Gardens (12:00pm-1:00pm)
In trying times, poetry and music bring people together. Join Nia Pearl for one-of-a-kind outdoor poetry workshops inspired by the physical environs of Yerba Buena Gardens. A gifted teacher and charismatic performer, she leads participants through hands-on activities centered on observing, reflecting and writing in response to the nature around them. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Stay after the workshop for the free concert and draw inspiration from the music. RSVP coming soon.

Nia Pearl is an award-winning poet, writer, and environmental justice advocate working at the intersection of art, activism, and public engagement. Nia's writing has been published in Radicle magazine, the journal Meridians: feminism, race, transnationalism, The Town: An Anthology of Oakland Poets, and Painting the Streets: Oakland Uprising in the Time of Rebellion. She is one of the recipients of the 2023 Nomadic Press/San Francisco Foundation Literary Awards.
